I thought it might help buyers if amazon ensures sellers state clearly if the console or game they are selling is an older version which has a console with interactive lights or the new version which has all of these but includes a microphone and the joystick has a writing pad and writing pen which works with the interactive system.
Using older games or an older console with the new version can crash the new one, making it impossible to use.
Overall we have had v-tech in our home since my daughters birth with the baby toys and walking toys, the interactive trolley with removable singing game and then the vtech vsmile tv console and joystick. My daughter loves the singalong and the writing and more still the advent of newer games with her favourite cartoon characters.
She can sit for a long time with this and it improves her confidence in ability, articulation, hand eye coordinaion, mathematics, english, logic, concentration and memory. Great for one game!

Gettin one of these for my daughter's console for when her friends come round so they can play 2 players, then there's no fighting!! lol Perfectly designed for little hands with the large control stick and big colourful buttons that actually light up. The controller can actually be adjusted for left handers, so the control stick can be on either side
