There is plenty of track for the Virgin Trains Pendolino to show off its accurate tilting mechanism especially when the train travels at speed around the bends! Each drive unit has lights that illuminate in the direction of travel but can, using the Hornby DCC Unit be independently switched on or off even when the train is in motion! Virgin Trains Pendolino Digital is a wonderful Hornby set for boys with an interest in trains!

This is a good starter set for anyone looking to get in to Railway modelling or convert to DCC models.
I bought this after an absence of 16 years in Model railways and loved it, the Pendolinos tilt mechanisms good, and you can really see it on 2nd and 3rd radius curves.
I'd also recommend you buy the track extension packs that go along with it if you don't plan to model your own track.

I was sceptical at first but was pleasantly suprised, the detail is excellent as is the actual movement of the train as it swings round the corners at high speed, i bought this set as an addition to an already large collection of trains but just renumbered the dcc chip in the train instead of having to fit one, the dcc chip is the thing that allows you to run more than 1 train on the same track and control the lights etc. I remember when it was 1 track, 1 train but not anymore, I have had steam engines, diesel engines and electric engines all running at once! Fantastic, buy one, you wont be dissapointed

This is an excellent train, in terms of detail and even the tilt is accurate. There is a slight problem with the stiffness of the wires inside the engines which can snap, but once repaired, shouldn't give anymore bother! For anyone interested in model railways, this is either a good starting point (It even have working lights!) or an ideal extra for an experienced modeller.
