Product Description Are you looking for your very first power kite?
Then experience the Brand New Symphony Beach range from HQ
The Symphony Beach is for the beginner flyer who is stepping into power kiting for the very first time, or it's ideal for all the family to use at a day out at the park or beach.
It's a kite that will offer a nice steady pull and smooth control but without the grunt of the bigger power kites on the market.
The Symphony Beach comes in three different sizes. 1.3M, 1.7M & 2.1M The size you choose will depend on how much power you would like and the weight of the flyer.
The range offers great fun, exciting colours & amazing value for money for beginners and advanced pilots due to their excellent flying characteristics. With their light pull and smooth response, the Symphony range is a great choice for the first time dual line foil flier.
All Symphony's are carefully hand-made according to the highest standards and from the finest materials. They pack- away into a small compact and stylish waist bag and are ideal for travel, holidays & or day out in the park!
All HQ Symphony Power Kites come fully complete with lines and ready to fly.
The HQ Symphony 1.7M is the middle size in its class and will produce more pull and more power than the 1.3M but won't be as fast. The kite really emphasises the fun aspect of powerkite flying and is ideal for Beginners & Children aged 12 years and up.

Top quality kite, nearly the most fun you can have on the beach July 27, 2010 Al B Top quality kite that arrived almost as soon as I ordered it. Very easy to fly, made me look like the king of the beach within about half an hour. Manouverability is very good and steering easy to pick up. Needs a strong grip when the wind strengthens, my eight year old didn't fancy a free flight to the Hebrides so she flew her single line butterfly perfectly instead.
Top Toy July 20, 2010 T. Murchie It is pretty durable and very easy to fly.
In strong wind it handles very well, and doesnt feel like breaking apart.
It certainly has alot of power to it, and gives you a decent workout in good wind!
Only flaw would be (if there is one) it is difficult to self-inflate. It requires a manual setup and launch. A minor inconvenience, but once its in the air, goes like a dream!
Definetly recommend the 2.1m, you may regret getting the smaller one!
Excellent kite for kids July 15, 2010 David Bartlett I'm an experienced kite flyer and wanted something the kids could try. This is sporty enough for my 11 and 13 year olds, both of whom could fly it in a matter of minutes. Pretty crash proof as well!
A great kite for a 10-year old July 10, 2010 Andy M Having bought a similar kite at a well-known toy store, it turned out to be a major disappointment as it did not fly. After obtaining a refund, I looked at the reviews for this kite and ordered one (roughly the same cost as the previous one). It is brilliant. The instructions are clear, it flies brilliantly and my 10-year old mastered the basics in about 10 minutes. He flew it for for over an hour until both our necks were hurting from looking up. He can't wait for the next windy day, and I'll have my camera ready when it comes around. If you want a good quality kite that is great fun for its age rating then look no further.
Rips your arms out of there sockets, well good fun. June 28, 2010 Nat (UK) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Review of 2.1m symphony beach.
Size matters:
The kite has a recommended 4-31 mph usage. Check the BBC weather site for wind speed. You do not want to use this kite above or even close to the higher end.
This is suppose to be a beginner kite but I would recommend anyone under 10 stone to save money and get the 1.7m version (my brother owns one).
16-20 mph is fast enough to pull me along and i'm 12 stone. My partner weighs 9 stone and struggles to keep her feet on the ground. If the wind was any faster it would be too much for me to handle.
Setup:
The kite comes assembled, all you need to do is loop a black and a red noose over 2 knots, unwind all of the string and unleash mayhem.
Be careful:
I would recommend wearing long sleeve tops or long gloves covering wrists. I ended up with rub marks (chinese burns) over my wrists as the pull is phenominal.
When switching over from one user to another ensure the kite is not going to take off.
I walked away from the deflated sail end to have the sail re-inflate. The string slashed across my face like a cheese wire. This can be very dangerous. I was lucky to only have a red mark across my face for a week or so, it could have been alot more serious. (I looked like scar face for days!)
Fly away from other people. If you were to crash this kite at full speed into someone, they would be injured.
About flying:
It takes 5 minutes to learn basic control, but mistakes are easily made especially when the kite is at full speed, blink and you will crash.
Until basic flying skill is gained, fly side to side, not up and down. If this kite crashes vertically downwards too many times, it is likley to blow the stitching in the sail pockets like a large ballon popping.
Overall:
I would recommend this brand of kite to everyone.
Consider the size that you buy. I believe from flying the 1.7 and 2.1m:
1.3m for children over 10
1.7m for young teens/petite women
2.1m for older teens/adults
3m+ for the incredibley strong/heavy or low wind areas.
If you do purchase any kite, find a good hill or really open park. Anywhere near trees/houses makes the wind inconsistent even on windy days.
