1 out of 5 stars Definitely not worth the money!   June 8, 2010

This is way too much money for a model only 5 inches high. The brain itself is about 2 inches high and 3 inches long from front to back. It was very difficult to assemble without it flying off somewhere and is impossible to pull apart to learn the parts inside the brain. A definite waste of time, considering I have a neuroscience exam in 2 weeks!

    Definitely would not recommend it!

1 out of 5 stars Really disappointed   May 6, 2010

The product dimensions are completely misleading. Those are the dimensions of the BOX it comes in not the actual product. The product is tiny, barely the size of a tennis ball and it is fiddly to put together. I found it so frustrating that learning with it was a complete loss. Sending it back if I can, complete waste of money.

3 out of 5 stars TINY BRAIN   April 22, 2010

This little brain arrived. I must say I really didn't pay attention to the dimensions and was somewhat disappointed with the size of this 'toy'. It had many pieces of which are mostly already assembled in the box. leaving you approx. 12 bits to put together. It is helpful in understanding the positioning of the internal structures of the brain, e.g. ventricles but the hippocampus part keeps falling out until you press everything together to become a whole brain. generally it was ok. A little heavy on the stand so not really to be 'played' with once you've assembled it. As its not easy to separate one piece from another, you are not able to just take away one bit to reveal another as my 8 year old nephew established!

Small and fiddly to put together. Heavier on one side so keeps falling over! Cerebellum keeps falling off. Very disappointing. If there is a manufacturer of anatomical models and charts who wants to find a gap in the market, then produce some good, relatively simple, reasonably sized and durable models and charts on the brain for use with top KS2 pupils. Schools using the "Brainstorm" topic from the International Primary Curriculum will be eager to purchase!

    1 out of 5 stars Disappointing   August 26, 2009

I bought this toy as a prop for some training I had planned and was very disappointed. First of all I hadn't realised how very small it is....about the size of a golf ball, or smaller. It is awkward to put together and the instructions are not at all clear. I think an 8 year old would struggle, and no 8 year olds I know would get any enjoyment from it. At twelve pounds I think it is dreadfully overpriced. I wouldn't call it fun or educational, and certainly not value for money.
