Don't pay anymore than a tenner May 27, 2008 The Wife (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
If you can get this product for under ten pounds then go for it. It is ok at that price. At the rrp, forget it. My daughter was given this as a present. The camera build quality is appalling. Companies give away cameras that are better than this. The usb connector broke before we had a chance to upload her pictures. Fortunately she already has a decent camera so she has been able to use that. However... We were able to import JPG pictures from our computer. This is good as you can incorporate images other than just photographs. However, despite what it says in the manual it doesn't seem possible to import video (AVI) files from your computer via the software. We did manage to get AVI files of our own into the journal by copying them into the PHOTO directory for the software. This sort of worked - managed to play them - but the software appeared very flakey and would crash if the videos were incorporated into the journal. So, we've ditched the broken camera and we are only using photographs now; so much for the VIDEO journal. The software is fun and my daughter is enjoying using it but I am not sure for how long. I have seen better designed applications online on sites like the BBC for example. And, at 9 years old, my daughter doesn't really need "simplified" software like this to have fun creating stuff on the computer. For more reviews, check out the USA amazon site. Most reviews are favourable, but then it costs a lot less in the US.
Brilliant Buy for 10.00!! January 7, 2008 Gigi Brown (Scotland) 20 out of 20 found this review helpful
Bought this for my daughter for christmas. The camera lets you take photos and short videos. You can then upload them onto the computer where you can do all sorts with them. My daughter is 10 and just loves it. She has been writing stories and making cards with all her own photos (take up to 26 at a time) The camera is very light but the quality is actually excellent. Buy this. I have bought another couple as birthday presents. What do you get for 10 these days?
