The inference from the advert is that the sledge is suitable for adults, however that wasn't the recommendation when the sledge arrived. All information should be given before and not after sale. I don't know about durability as i've only just bought it! I'm not sure if the sledge justifies the price.

To be honest the sledge arrived on the day before the snow melted so we were only able to use the product once. It was very durable and was smooth down the snowy hills. We are secretly hoping for more snow soon so we can have more fun with it!

In general the sledge worked well. My only comment would be the base could do with being wider as it was not as stable as expected.

These sledges are fine BUT the product description is very misleading and they are therefore grossly overpriced.
First they are said to be "Huge 1 Metre Long". Yes they are 1 metre long. Well that's waist height. Not huge - just normal sledge size. You can just squeeze an adult on.
Second, the description specifies minimum age as 6 years. It doesn't specify that imprinted on the sledges are the words "for ages 6-12 years". Important to know. This is not an adult sledge.
Third, we are told: "Made of really, really tough High Density Polyethylene". Well we'll see. They are made of very thin plastic. I don't expect to get more than 1 season out of them.
It's disappointing that you can't specify a colour.
All in all, the description tries to make you believe you're getting a top-of-the-range product. In fact you are getting a very average product.

Im about to buy another of these mailbox sledges as the last one has only just split after 14 years-we got it before my eldest was born and its been through every single winter since,even when theres been hardly any snow and its been dragged across tarmac. Its also the fastest on the slopes- goes further, quicker than any of the other plastic ones. Comfortable for an adult and a child together,we preferred it to our expensive wooden Davos sledge which was just too heavy for our type of snow. Well worth the price and if you get a green or pink one, nobody else has got the same colour so no-ones going to nick it either ....
