fantastic!! December 31, 2008 L. Stephens (London) I bought this for my 3 year old for Christmas. She loves it. I got for 25.00 at another shop and so far its the best money ever spent. She found the level 1 too easy as it is just basic numbers and alphabet but loves level 2 games and activities and would play them all day. She was just starting to learn to read and this has helped tremendously. In just 2 days she is now reading basic 3/4 letter words independantly! If you are against games consoles as I but would like some technology in the home, then this is highly recommended. The keyboard is a great introduction to computers and the mouse works really well. Just looking for more games now.
POOR PICTURE QUALITY DONT BOTHER December 10, 2008 C. Dennaford (buckinghamshire) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Went to go and buy this for our three year old for christmas and took the advice of another review on here and tested it on our television at home first. The picture quality is terrible, very cheaply done, and you would have thought they could have done it a bit better for the good brand name leappad is. The sound quality is also poor. It gave me a headache trying to read the blocky numbers and words. Might be ok on a small portable tv but these days everyone has bigger tv's at home. Nice idea, but we took it back and went with the first leapad instead. Please dont waste your time and give you wee ones headaches!!!!!
Sceptical, but FAB!! January 23, 2008 Ms. H. L. Barber (Lincs) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
We brought this for our little boy with his christmas money, who is 2,three in march.I was a little sceptical about spending this sort of money on something that could be great or not so.I saw it on offer and eventually decided to get it.Christmas day came we put in the batteries and everyday since,my boy has been on it.I can glady say its fab!He now knows most of his letters and all of his numbers so as far as the educational thing goes thats a 10 out of 10 for me.We also brought him the Thomas game which he loves,he sometimes struggles with the mouse but with abit of practice he'll be fine. The only thing i would say is to buy the adapter, were still on our first lot of batteries but it is definately cheaper in the long run.
My little boy loves it - not sure how long it will last January 15, 2008 Mrs. Bryony A. Shaw (Ely, Cambs) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I got this for my little boy who is nearly 4 for christmas - only paid 25 for it in argos but haven;t seen it as cheap as this again. It comes with plenty of stuff preloaded onto the computer without buying any games so don;t feel under any pressure to buy games for it straight away. We bought the art game for it as well but haven't really even looked at it yet as he is happy with the stuff already on there. Is set up to look like a proper desktop on the telly with a little inbox for email and 4 different games. 2 are using the mouse - you have a little dog that you can feed and pet and play with and there are 2 typing games. They all start off at the very basic level and then slowly get more and more involved which is great. You can set up profiles for different children and you have a guest setting which any visiting child can have a go on without messing up your childs game. The downsides as far as I can see atm - the mouse can seem a little sticky to me although my son doesn't complain. It also has quite a small mousemat attached but again - I thought this was going to be more of a problem than in is. The batteries in the main console don't last at all and we have now bought an adapter. We have had to take the batteries out once because we couldn't get it to turn off which makes me worry a bit that we are going to have glitches like this in the future. Time will tell tho I guess. All in all we are really pleased with it and I find it much better than the v smile which we also have. I feel he is learning much more and I think using a mouse and keyboard is going to be much more useful for him educationally in the future than being proficient with a joystick. All in all we are really pleased with it and have high hopes for it in the future. Hope to help.
Parts Missing January 8, 2008 Fraserallin (UK) 1 out of 9 found this review helpful
Looks like it to be a very good learning toy. But have discovered that the four games which are supposed to be supplied are missing.
