2 out of 5 stars die cast metal? plus a load of plastic...   December 25, 2008

very disappointing - I wasn't expecting miracles, but in this day and age where an apple ipod shuffle costs as much as this 'toy' and yet Apple manage to make a product that exudes quality, I think some expectation of quality was reasonable... unfortunately this microscope ranks just one notch above junk I'm afraid.

I bought this for my 10 year old daughter for Christmas, and for 19.95, the quality is pretty good.

The image you see is good and clear, and it easy to use ( once you have figured it out!)

Plenty of extras to make your own slides and "be a scientist".

Be warned that the instructions are EXTREMELY brief, and to be honest we still havent quite figured out how to use the drawing/projecting adaptor, but we are more then happy with looking, observing and sketching at the moment.

A great buy if your children are interested in science - they will be fascinated!
