Fantastic breast pump in my top 10 of baby buys December 7, 2008 D. Bell (Manchester, England) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I absolutely loved this product with my first child. It was quick and easy to set up without looking at the instructions, easy to clean, and compatible with other avent storage bottles, so great to store a lot of expressed milk too. It comes with bottles to get you started and can be used as a manual pump if you prefer that action but I found the electric to be quick and efficient and most importantly gentle on often very full breasts. Indeed the pump was a god send when I had mastitis and really relieved the tenderness and was definitely a contributory factor in enabling me to breastfeed for longer.
Not ideal for frequent use November 15, 2008 Busy Mum (West Midlands, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My son was born 14 weeks early and I used to have to express milk for him using a hospital pump for the 12 weeks he was in hospital. As he didn't take to breastfeeding I decided to buy this pump for home use so that I could express milk for his feeds. In retrospect I wish I'd hired a more heavy duty pump for use at home as this gave up on me after 11 weeks of use. I was expressing 5-6 times a day and the motor unit just ended up going funny. There is the option to use the manual attachments but if I'd wanted to express manually then I wouldn't have spent the extra on an electronic version! The motor unit also gets drops of milk in it and it is exremely difficult to clean and there is no advice in the booklet on the best way to clean the motor unit - I feel this is quite unhygenic even though they say this part doesn't come into contact with the baby's milk. It's also very difficult to detach the motor unit from the bottle etc when you finish expressing and milk tends to drip out all over the place. In short, I would only advise buying this if you intend only to express once or twice a day or when you need to leave some milk for a sitter to give to your baby.
Slow and powerless July 4, 2008 Major EyesWater (Edinburgh Likes) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My wife bought this, and it would take around 45 minutes to express.. It just didnt really work for her, the one we hired would express double the amount in about 10 minutes.
Really great January 14, 2008 G. Smyth (BELFAST N IRELAND) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I used this pump for 5 months and I think its fantastic. Once you have the pump set to the speed that you like (which only takes a few seconds to do) its just a matter of turning it on and let it do its work. Its really easy to use and great value for money.
a real help November 9, 2007 Ummy Mummy (Brighton, UK) 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
Unlike the previous reviewer, I found this to be much more productive that the manual pump and much more comfortable. I used it for a couple of months solidly every feed.
