A bit squeaky and messy October 24, 2008 ERV Scott (Hastings, UK) I found this very easy to use, take apart and reassemble. It was comfortable and it looks nice. However, it was squeaky until it had been through the steam steriliser 8 or 10 times which was very off putting for a first-timer. It also drips when you take it off so you need to make sure you have a cloth handy to stop you getting milk on your clothes. That said, it is a very good pump and you can pop the full bottles straight in the freezer if you want. Do use the white bottle stands for the newborn size bottles otherwise it falls over when you put it down! I would recommend this to a friend.
a functional item; does the job but could be refined October 15, 2008 Janet X (UK) I've relied on this pump for two children; it is robust and has coped with me using it day in, day out for a total of 2 years and still going strong! My main criticism would be that the cushion section is a great idea but tends to leak (I have 2 pumps, one at home and one at work and they're just the same) which can lead to some sogginess when you come to redress- a pain when I've just popped out of a meeting to express, though no big deal at home. Easy to use, even hubby can reassemble. I've regularly got up to 16oz in one 1/2 hour session (so fit larger bottle if you're well endowed!) but, if your supply drops, it can be a teeny bit uncomfy - suspect all pumps similar in this regard.
Very good product July 14, 2008 J. Trim (UK) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I was given this product by a friend and never thought i would need to use it. However my mum went into hospital and i needed to express milk so my partner could look after my daughter. After some initial trial and error i soon got the hang of it and was expressing 6oz every morning in 5 minutes flat. This is easy to asemble and clean and can be packed away in a small box. It also come with lots of spares in case you happen to loose any of the smaller parts.
Great June 28, 2008 Bexter (North-East England) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I've only ever used this breast pump, so I can't compare it to others. However, saying that, I have breast fed two babies for about 6 months each and have expressed both times using this pump. I was easily able to express 15-18 ounces in not very long, and I am quite large in the breast department and have not had any problems there either. As for a part of the pump breaking, I never experienced this, but I did replace the small plastic/rubber thing before I thought it looked worn. I have recommended this pump, and I would again. I think that as my babies received expressed milk in a bottle it made the transition to formula easier for them, when I had to return to work, as they'd been using a bottle not everything was new for them, it also meant that their dad got those lovely cuddles.
Avent Isis Manual pump April 25, 2008 Mrs. Michelle M. Sargent 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I used the Madela mini electric pump for my first 2 children. But when the pump gave out i decided to get this instead. And i love it. I wish i had been using this one from the start. You can express milk just as quickly as the electric ones and it makes no noise so you can watch TV or pump in the early hours. It is simple to put together and very easy to use. I orginally got an electric one because i thought i would get a sore hand from pumping manually but that is not the case. This can also be sterlised in the microwave making it very quick to clean. 5+
