5 out of 5 stars My toddler can't get enough of this game!   June 20, 2008

My little boy (2 years 9 months) absolutely adores this game. It's good on may levels - taking turns, memorising locations, improving vocabulary, etc., but most importantly it's good fun and we enjoy playing it as a family (which is fortunate, since our son requests it most days!!). The construction is sturdy enough to withstand the attentions of an excitable toddler!

4 out of 5 stars Excellent game   May 10, 2008

My children have loved the shopping game ever since they were old enough to understand the concept - about 2.5. There are other games out there that perform a similar function - having to remember where a face-down card is and having to find all the cards on your list - but this is the best version I've found. Shopping is something that all children know about and mine certainly found it fun to play at such a familiar activity. At the end of the game they enjoy taking their "full trolly" to an imaginary check out and paying for their shopping. I would highly recommend this game...

5 out of 5 stars Speech Therapist's choice   April 24, 2008

I use this game a lot in therapy sessions. It's great for learning vocabulary, practicing speech sounds, turn-taking, listening and attention, concentration, etc. etc. Best of all, the children really enjoy playing it and it shows that 'low-tech' games are still very popular.

5 out of 5 stars As a childrens English teacher I love this game   April 8, 2008

This is such a great game for those wanting to teach food vocabulary to young classes in English. The pictures are cute and for the most part its clear what its meant to be, and the colours are bright and attractive. The only problem is that after they know the vocabulary its not much use except in other classes. However I've used it with small classes of 1-3 Spanish children and they loved it. I've just discovered that you can now buy expansion packs to add to it which is great. If your using it with children who can't yet read the shopping list it's a great way to teach and reinforce the vocabulary in other languages as well, in that sense its very versatile. Even when they turn over items thats not on their list I have them say what the item was so there is a lot of reinforcement. I can't recommend this game enough to language teachers.

5 out of 5 stars My daughter's favourite game   February 8, 2008

My daughter is just about to turn three and this is her favourite game at the moment. The game needs 2-4 players and the aim is to collect the items on your shopping list by remembering/guessing where each item is from those turned over on the floor.

As well as being used for the game, the pieces and cardboard shopping trolley also get used for playing 'shops' with.
